Relationship Therapy Works

What Partners Are Trying to say.

“Distressed partners may use different words, but they are always asking the same basic questions, ‘Are you there for me? Do I matter to you? Will you come when I need you?’ “

My Therapeutic Approach:

My approach to working with couples uses emotionally-focused therapy (EFT) – an evidenced-based model of couples therapy that has been met with unprecedented success in helping distressed couples improve their relationship. The foundation of EFT maintains that we are inherently social beings, and we are biologically “hardwired” to create connection and strong emotional bonds with our partners and loved ones. The distress that partners experience is deeply rooted in the felt loss and disconnection from one another. You and your partner might be feeling stuck in a negative cycle of conflict where each of you reacts in a way that just keeps seeming to leave you emotionally distant from one another, lonely, and misunderstood; even over the slightest issue. As your couples therapist, I aim to help you identify and map out the the issues keeping you stuck, and discover new ways of articulating your needs, and responding to your partner.
